3/4 Sleeve Sweaters (Why is this a thing?)

What to Wear to Work: Three Quarter Sleeve Sweater and Pixie Pants

I should probably start by acknowledging that I own a 3/4 sleeve sweater. So this post is (maybe) a tiny bit hypocritical. But …

I don’t see the point of 3/4 sleeve sweaters!

If we want to go back to the beginning (which we obviously do), I think this all started when I was watching Hart of Dixie the first time. It seems like all the Belles have 3/4 sleeve coats. Winter coats. I realize that the show is set in Alabama, so it’s not extremely cold there. But why would anyone make a winter coat that doesn’t cover all of your arms?

So there was that. Then, this fall, I tried on a really cute 3/4 sleeve sweater (at LOFT, of course). It was really on sale, and I really liked it, so I bought it. But I’ve had so much trouble wearing it. Because if it’s cold enough to wear a sweater, I need it to cover my arms!

Most of the time, I end up wearing this sweater with a turtleneck under it. So you see the undershirt at the end of the arms and at the neck.

The only downside to that is that the sweater has a pretty wide neck and the turtleneck is pretty snug. So there’s a weird gap at the sides. But that’s easily hidden by just wearing my hair down. πŸ™‚

In other news, I mentioned last week that I had just started The Impostor Queen so I couldn’t say for sure if I liked it or not. Good news — I love it! I stayed up late (aka until midnight) on Saturday to read it, and then I read for another hour on Sunday morning. And I keep thinking of all the questions I wanted answered.

I even briefly considered bringing it with me to my Super Bowl party. But then I realized that I’d be talking way too much to get any reading done. πŸ™‚

As always, thanks for reading this blog!
