I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions. But around January 3rd, I saw an article about setting goals for the year, and I remembered that I’d set goals at the beginning of 2017. And I’d forgotten all about them.
So I went back and found the goals. As a complete surprise to no one, I hadn’t met most of the goals. (I guess that’s what happens when you forget about your goals sheet.)
But it did remind me how different my life was a year ago! In January 2017, I was living in a different state, planning a wedding, and just starting this blog. I also seemed to be under the impression that I’d remember the goals I set and work toward them all year. Ha.
I decided to set goals again this year, but I’m trying to keep them more general. And you know, remember them.
So far, they include weekly date nights (though to be fair, when we don’t have a date night, it’s because of Matt’s homework), doing at least one fun activity outside the apartment every week, and making one thing every month. Here’s what else I’m doing:
The Impostor Queen. I just started this book, so I can’t say for sure if it’s good or not, but it has a lot of potential. It’s also the first in a series, which is always a plus for me.
The Mindy Project. Matt convinced me that we should get Hulu, and The Mindy Project was one of his main selling points. He clearly knows me very well. We started watching it together, and we both love it. There have been several times that we’ve watched episodes on the computer while we brushed our teeth. Just to get in as much Mindy time as possible.
I also watched the 4th Season of Grace and Frankie (which was great … but I want to see more of Brianna’s assistant!), and I started rewatching The OC. Peter Gallagher is in both, and I just keep thinking about them calling him Peter Eyebrows on Girlboss. #hilarious
My pink and navy zebra dress was needing some love, so I was planning to rework it a bit. Of course, now that it’s 90% done, it’s not really looking the way I wanted it to. So it might just become a shirt. 🙂
Thanks for reading!
P.S. When I was writing this post, I looked up the goals I’d set for this year. And it took me at least three minutes to find them. Clearly I’m off to a great start. 🙂
