My Favorite (Practical) Registry Items
I’m not going to lie — I didn’t think that making a wedding registry was particularly fun. I also wasn’t that good at it.
I spent a lot of time saying things like, “Well, I need that now, I can’t wait 6 months for it,” or “What would we even do with that??” or “There is no way that’s worth $60.”
So basically, I was far too practical when I was putting together our registry. But I think that ended up working out well. We got a lot of really useful gifts, and I’m surprisingly obsessed with some of them.
These are the six practical registry items we’ve used the most in the past few months!
Glass Mixing Bowls with Lids | I’ve been wanting glass mixing bowls for a while, and I decided to register for the set with lids. I figured the worst case scenario was that we just wouldn’t use the lids. It turns out that we use the lids a ton! I use the bowls for cooking and baking (obviously), but they’ve also become my salad bowls. So when we’re done eating, I just pop on the lid and stick it in the fridge. We also use them when we take stuff to potlucks.
Santoku Knife | It’s kind of hilarious to me how much I love this knife. I pull it out to cut everything. The exact one we have is sold out, but the one I linked is super similar! A big, sharp knife makes all the difference.
1.5 qt Sacue Pan | The best part of this pan is that the lid has slats in the side for draining. So I use it every time I make frozen veggies. (And in the winter, that’s at least every other day.) I actually registered for it having no idea that it was so cool, but after we got it, I registered for a few more Calphalon pots.
Vacuum Steam Mop | The entire downstairs of our apartment has laminate floors, so this puppy is my best friend. It essentially sweeps and mops at the same time, and it’s so, so easy to use. (Unlike actual mops.)
Travel Steamer | To be fair, I registered for this, and then a week later I decided that I needed it right away. So I bought it for myself. 🙂 But I use it a lot, and it was in high demand on wedding weekend since pretty much everyone flew in for the wedding.
Nonstick Frying Pan | This was Matt’s pick to put on the list. It’s so much better than any of the nonstick pans we’ve had — things just don’t stick to it at all. We also use it every Sunday to make eggs.
