I’ve been ready for Christmas since the first cold wave in early November. I walked outside one afternoon, and it just felt like it was going to snow. Which of course it didn’t. But the feeling was still there. And I was ready to decorate the apartment with every Christmas decoration I owned.
I held off for a week and congratulated myself by watching a Christmas movie … and adding five more to my Netflix list. But by the 17th, all of our decorations were downstairs, and I spent most of my Friday night finding places for everything.
We have a fake tree (and it’s actually very sad … I need to find a new one), so I bought a scented candle from Target. And it’s basically the same thing. 🙂
Here’s what else has been happening lately!
My Husband’s Wife by Jane Corry. Matt read the inside cover and said, “You’re going to be scared.” Which is a valid comment. I usually save my scarier books for listening to in the car, but since I’m not driving much these days, I’m reading the physical copy! I do most of my reading before bed, though, so let’s hope it doesn’t keep me from sleeping. (So far, so good.)
Lipstick Jungle. Well, to be fair, I’m sort of watching Lipstick Jungle, and I’m sort of watching Hart of Dixie. I’m just not that into Lipstick Jungle, and it’s being taken off of Netflix in December anyway. So I’ve turned to a show that I know I like.
Reputation. I may not be the biggest Taylor Swift fan in the world, but I’m probably in the top 25%. And it really says a lot that I’m listening to Taylor instead of Christmas music.
I will say that this album has taken some getting used to, but I’m liking it more and more.
Our Christmas stockings. I bought fabric back in January thinking that I’d work ahead and have the stockings done long before Christmas arrived. And of course that didn’t happen. So I’m making them now!
Thanks for reading!
