Something Borrowed & Blue

Cold shoulder dress with embroidery

As I mentioned in this Instagram post, my sister forgot her dress for Matt and my rehearsal dinner.

Or more accurately, she asked my mom to bring her a dress, but my parents were already halfway to Maryland by the time she got in touch with them. So Hannah was dressless.

She looked through my closet and said that there was only one passable item — the dress that I was planning to wear. (Also, rude. I like my dresses.) And since I wasn’t going to change my outfit, Hannah went to the mall!

She ended up getting this one at Francesca’s, and I thought it was pretty cute. However, it happens to be hand wash only (boo), so Hannah left it at my parents’ house when she went back to the camp where she worked. And since I’m at home this week, I snagged it to take pictures in!

Also, do people still do the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue for their weddings? I didn’t have a single person ask me about it, which surprised me.

For the record, I didn’t do it. I did have new and blue items, and if you count my three-year old shoes and four-year-old bracelet, I also had old items. But I couldn’t find anything to borrow.

I did try — at the last minute — to borrow something of my sister’s, but that didn’t really pan out. So I borrowed this dress instead. A month later. πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading!

P.S. I steamed this dress 20 minutes before we shot these pictures, and it still managed to wrinkle by the photoshoot. So if you find it in stores and buy it, get ready to iron or steam it aΒ lot.
