An Unlikely Pair
Lately, I’ve been wearing a lot of outfits that barely match.
We’re nearing the end of the summer, and I feel like I’ve worn all of my shorts and sleeveless tops about a hundred million times. Which means that I’m tired of wearing them in the normal ways. So I’ve just started pairing random pieces together.
And I’ve actually found several cute outfits out of it. Like this one.
I typically like to wear peplum tops with fitted shorts or pants so that you can really see the flare in the shirt, and I usually pair my polka dot shorts with pretty simple tops so the shorts can have the spotlight. But here, I put the two statement pieces together. And to make it even more fabulous, I added statement earrings, too.
As I mentioned in my July update, I’ve barely been in Chapel Hill since we moved last month. But little by little, mostly as I run errands, I’m starting to explore the area!
One notable discovery was this beautiful tree (in the pictures above) by the pool at our apartment. Another interesting find was that the tennis courts (the blue you see behind me in some of the pictures) are actually tennis/basketball courts. So there are hoops at each end and a net in the middle. Weird, right?
In the apartment’s defense, I’ve never seen more than one person at a time out there, and it doesn’t seem like anyone is really trying to play a real game of basketball. Or maybe they just can’t because there’s a tennis net in the middle and they’d break their ankles trying to jump over it.
So I suppose that’s another unlikely pair. 🙂 Thanks for reading!
