As I mentioned last week, I love, love, love knit dresses, and a lot of that is because they’re comfortable and versatile.
When I was planning to make this dress, I really wanted something simple that I could wear pretty much anywhere (like the work/church/dinner trifecta mentioned in this post). And then I found this amazing deep purple knit fabric at JoAnn, and I knew exactly what I would be using to make said dress.
Here, I have it styled for work with heels and a long necklace, and I’d also probably grab a cardigan (maybe navy, maybe tan, depending on my mood) to wear in over-air conditioned rooms. And I would be far more comfortable than on the days I wear pencil skirts.
Side note: The dress actually has blue stitching, which I was pretty excited about, but the material is just thick enough that you can’t really see it. Sad.

We’re now about a month from Matt and my move to Chapel Hill, which means that I’ve started packing up my apartment. And it’s the worst. I know a lot of people really love packing/moving slowly, but I’d really rather just do it all in one day and get it over with.
Of course, I’ve accumulated so much stuff in this apartment that there is no way I could actually pack it all up in a day. Seriously though. I’m really glad that Matt and I aren’t really going to live here together because I’d pretty much have to do this packing/cleaning out process just to make space for his stuff.
Happy Thursday and thanks for reading!
