Wear to Work Wednesday: Blue & Red Skirt

Floral Pencil Skirt

There’s something about wearing sunglasses that just makes me happy. It’s probably becauseΒ bright, warm summer days are my absolute favorite, and even in the middle of winter, a really sunny day is like a small reminder of summer. (In contrast, my mom and sister really like cloudy days. Which IΒ can’t even begin to understand.)

I also really love pulling out this skirt, which I randomly found at the Ann Taylor outlet. It feels like a spring/summer item, but I wear it all through the winter, too. The red background makes it really stand out, and it’s definitely been a conversation starter on several occasions.

Back to the sunglasses for one second. One time in college, a guy used “Tell me something about yourself” as a conversation starter. And for whatever reason, the first thing that popped into my head was “Wearing sunglasses makes me so happy.” So that’s what I said.

I’m pretty sure he thought that was a strange answer, but come on, “Tell me something about yourself”? That’s a terrible question. And he didn’t ask me any vague, open-ended questions after that, so I’d consider my answer a win.
