The January 6 | Hunting for Pink Flamingos

Getting SO excited about my newest project. (A faux fur vest that’s coming to the blog in February!)

As we were heading into January, I was thinking a lot about New Year’s resolutions. Like, should I make them? And if so, what would they be?

In the end, the deciding point was when I realized that I couldn’t name a single resolution I’d ever made. I couldn’t even say for sure if I had ever made one at all.

So that pretty much convinced me to save my time and not bother coming up with any resolutions for the year. However, I did remember seeing monthly “dares” on Gimme Some Oven a couple of years ago, and I thought that monthly challenges might be an attainable goal.

So. For January I decided I was going to declutter. For the past eight years (so … since I graduated from high school), I’ve done some sort of move every year. Sometimes more than once a year. So decluttering was kind of built in. But now, I’ve been in this apartment a year and a half, and it has so much stuff in it.

Honestly, the decluttering was only mildly successful. I took stuff to Goodwill and recycled a TON of old cards, and bought a shredder (that hasn’t arrived yet), but mostly … the apartment looks the same. But there’s always next month, right?

Thanks for reading!
