Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the year. Christmas excitement is at its peak, everyone takes a little time to chill out, church is always good, etc. It’s also a fabulous opportunity to dress up! And celebrate Jesus, of course. 🙂
Since Hannah and I both travel home for Christmas, we pick our outfits (or at least outfit options) a few weeks in advance. I had decided on a skirt, but I was deciding between a black lace top (which is actually a dress) and a berry turtleneck. Then I asked Han what she was wearing … and it included a dark red turtleneck dress. So that pretty much made my decision for me. The whole “matching sisters” thing is decidedly less cute when you’re in your 20s.
Depending on the temperatures on Saturday night, I may end up adding fleece-lined leggings, boots, and/or a cardigan. But we shall see!
And I should probably say that Christmas Eve is typically my favorite day of the year. My parents gave me a hard time this week for not staring my 2016 highlights with “getting engaged.” Ok, sorry I have a full life. And I don’t need no man. (Just kidding, Matt! You’re the best. Don’t cancel your flight to Iowa!)
