Staple + Sparkle

The best white top | Casual Spring Outfit

This shirt is a favorite of mine for so many reasons.

  1. Since it’s solid white, it matches many of the more outrageous statement pieces I own (including, but not limited to, yellow shorts, a teal and purple skirt, and a pink and navy pencil skirt).
  2. It’s lightweight, which is very appreciated in the summer.
  3. The jewels around the collar!

Of course, those adorable jewels do mean that it’s hand wash only and that I have to resew one of them about every two months. But I think that ultimately, this shirt has it all. Or, to quote Hannah Montana, it’s the best of both worlds: A fairly simple shirt with just a little bit of statement to it.

Thinking about this top being an understated statement piece made me remember one of my favorite shirts from junior high. It was white with blue trim on the collar and sleeves, and it said, “I Have Issues.” And “issues” was huge. I loved that shirt to death.

Thanks so much for reading!
