The Knit Dress – Styled for the Weekend

Knit dress + jean jacket + white sneakers | Casual, versatile weekend outfit

Guys. I am so excited about this outfit, mostly because it includes my new TOMS that are actually white.Β I put off this purchase for way too long, and now that I’ve done it, I’m so pleased.

Anyway, two weeks ago, I showed you how I’d wear this purple dress (that I made) for work. And today, I’m showing how I’d wear it for a casual weekend get together – or even a plane ride.

You have your comfy base that is fairly wrinkle resistant, you have a jacket for when it gets cool, and you have super-comfy shoes that you can easily slip on and off and walk around in.

So back to the TOMS. I can’t recommend the white ones enough. I got my first pair at the end of my sophomore year in college, and I wore them into the ground. Like, holes in the toes, not even close to white, I should probably just throw these away. (But instead, I just wore them to the grocery store on Saturday mornings. True life.)

I actually showed Matt my new and old shoes next to each other, and he didn’t believe me that they were the same shoe. He was like, “Maybe they accidentally sent you tan last time.” Nope, they’re just that dirty.

If you haven’t jumped on the white sneakers trend yet, I encourage you to do it now! I always think that white shoes look so cute with casual dresses, and they’re excellent for when you’re doing a lot of walking but you don’t want to wear your running shoes.

My original pair of white TOMS actually came with me for my semester abroad, and they were perfect. They were lightweight, they were comfy, I didn’t get blisters, and I didn’t look like a tourist. Win-win-win-win.

As always, thanks for reading!
